March 2025 Studio Notes!
Amber Light Studio Behind the Scenes: 
*This Month's Creative Explorations In and Out of the Studio!
As a creative, I am naturally driven to seek information and inspiration that shape both my intellect and my art! Every day I walk the earth is an opportunity to expand my horizons—whether through writing, creating art, or embracing new experiences.
The great poet, Mary Oliver stated: "When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement."
This is my approach to life! This is my quest; to use my breath, my words, my actions, and my precious time in the most meaningful of ways!
Let's be honest. March is a strange month! It's one of those "in between months" and can make you feel like you are in a waiting room or a wasteland! The coziness and picturesque snowy landscapes of the Northeast Winter have passed, the Spring landscape feels like it refuses to wake up, and you have hibernation fatigue! You're not quite sure what to do with your restlessness, your aspirations, or your Vitamin D craving!
I tried to ward off these feelings by keeping busy with books, movies, and photography tasks! This is how I filled my time!
~ I listened to The Spark File: Informative and inspiring podcast I binged on all winter! I especially love the Makers Episodes featuring some of my favorite Broadway stars!
Susan Blackwell and Laura Camien are authentically engaging and charming hosts of this podcast that is 100% for people like me who are always seeking inspiration and immersing themselves in creativity! If you're like me and live in an area that's not brimming with fellow creatives, this podcast is absolutely ESSENTIAL! I connect with the hosts on so many levels, and they provide the full validation I've needed as a creative my entire life. It kind of feels like a combination of a masterclass and support group for creatives!
~ I'm currently reading: "The Creative Habit" by Twyla Tharp
Twyla Tharp is a legendary choreographer and creative icon well known in the world of modern dance and beyond!
This book had me hooked from the start and I can't wait to finish it!
~Also Reading : “ A Path with Heart” by Jack Kornfield
This is the 4th book I have read of Jack's! I think I have listened to almost every single one of his podcasts, as well! Jack Kornfield is my "go-to" guru when it comes to meditation, mindfulness, and Buddhist Philosophy!
What I love most about Jack Kornfield's approach is that he is a captivating storyteller and often sights other spiritual leaders, poets, activists, and respected authors. He teaches one how to breathe, accept, and surrender!
Here is wonderful example of how wise, comforting, and insightful Jack Kornfield is!

~I watched critically acclaimed film, "A Complete Unknown". I absolutely loved it and recommend it if you are a fan of incredible acting, are fascinated with "Beat Culture", and enjoy watching the evolution of legendary artists! You cannot deny that Bob Dylan is one of the best poets of our time! As a photographer, I also enjoyed the cinematography on this film!
~Other films worth note that I watched this month: "The Pianist" and "The Book Thief"
Heavy yet transformative content with both of these films set in World War 2 era!
